When you open the Re-format window, R3D Data Manager will automatically look at all the media attached to your system and determine which ones are valid Red Media. It will list those in a pull down box. Select the media you wish to reformat.
Once you select the media, the program will go through its current copy operation and see if all copy processes were successful. If not, it will indicate that you may be erasing media that has not been successfully copied. R3D Data Manager does not look at previous copy operations prior to the last reset, because the possibility exists that two different media with different content have the same name. Therefore R3D Data manager will alert you even if you had previously successfully copied the media but had "reset" the copy operation.
Select The New Media Options
Select the options you would like to reformat the media as:
Camera ID: The letter of the camera, such as camera A or camera B.
Roll Number: The roll number to format as. This is a number between 001 and 999. You can enter the number directly, or increment the number using the arrows just to the right.
Reformatting
Once the options are selected, the "Re-format Red Media" button is enabled. Click it to start the reformat process. The program will re-read the media and then pop-up a confirmation that you wish to format the media. The pop-up alert will tell you which media its about to format, and what the new media letter and roll will be. Once you click "OK", the process begins.
During the copy process, it will indicate its progress. There are several steps to ensuring that the copy process was done right, and it will alert you of those steps as the program accomplishes it.
