R3D Data Manager Quick Start Guide

Using the R3D Data Manager Quicktime Rendering

Rendering the R3D Files to a usable format can be accomplished via the R3D Data Manager, using these simple steps:

Select The Source

Set your source R3D files here. Click on the box "Click here to set source directory". A new dialog window will popup. Navigate to the folder containing your RDM folders (RED camera build 15 or higher) or RDC folders (RED camera build 14 and lower).

Set The Destination Directories

Set your destination directories. Click on the "Add a Directory" button and navigate to where you want the R3D files to be rendered to. First select the primary destination, then if you want select additional destinations you want to copy the renders to.

Set The Rendering Options

Check your rendering options to ensure they are set correctly. You will want to ensure that the "R3D Settings" match your project, and your "Output Settings" match what you want to render to. In general, you can leave the defaults for the "Rendering Settings", as by default R3D Data Manager will use the metadata settings already included with the R3D file.

Start Rendering

Click on the "Start Renders" button in the upper right. A spinning icon will appear, meaning that the rendering process is queued.

That's all it takes to securely render your media
