Quicktime Render
Frequently Asked Questions and Answers

When I render all I get is black/white frames. What is wrong?

Please ensure that the codec you wish to write to exists on your system. For example the ProRes, codecs are only installed with a copy of Final Cut.

How many simultaneous renders should I setup at a time?

The is dependent on the hardware you are running it on. The general rule of thumb is one render per physical processor in your system. For example, if you have 2 physical processors (not cores) you should setup 2 simultaneous renders.

How many cores per render should I use?

This is dependent on your system. The rule of thumb is that you should use the same number of cores that your system has per processor.
