Best Practices

Here are some tips for getting the most out of this program

  • Make sure you use this program, end to end, throughout your production, transfer, post-production and archival process. By using this program throughout, you can ensure end-to-end viability of your R3D files.
  • Setup your preferences before hand, so you can literally just select and copy during the production.
  • Don't use the overwrite option for if a RDC folder exists, unless you really know what you are doing. Its always easier to create a new directory then triple check it later.
  • If you had an error during the copy process, for any reason, always check all your destinations manually to ensure the data made it across successfully.
  • When possible, keep your sources and destinations on individual busses for the data transport. This will allow each device to use the full speed it was rated for, allowing your transfers to be faster.
